Love this helmet!

I am a new motorcycle rider as of this summer and this is the first helmet I've ever bought. I did some research and also went to my local motorcycle shop to try on different brands. The Arai felt the best on my head and I liked how full of safety features it is. It's definitely more expensive than some, but you can't put a price on head safety so I felt it was well worth it. Also, I have ears on the large side, and this helmet has plenty of room to accommodate them. Some of the other brands I tried on felt like they were pushing my ears into my head which wasn't very comfortable. But when I slid on an Arai it was like "ahhhh" - a very nice feeling when my ears popped into place with room to spare.
When this helmet arrived, I wore it around the house for about 20 minutes before realizing my face was in pain. I had major jaw surgery in 2005 and my face is full of metal plates and screws. The cheek pads that came with this helmet were too tight for my face (due to the non-flexibility of the metal plates). However, I remembered from the Arai website that you can order different sized cheek pads, which is another reason I purchased this helmet. I ordered some that were about a half inch smaller and they arrived a week later. My husband helped me change them out (the process is slightly complicated, but do-able) and the helmet has been a dream ever since.
I love how this helmet looks, feels and performs. It has a lot of adjustable vents, too, which keeps it cool in the summer even with the visor locked down. Highly recommend!

What a great helmet.

I was very lucky to find this on the Amazon marketplace. I have a long oval shaped noggin and not many helmets fit me properly. This helmet cost $557 new everywhere I looked. It was listed as used and in good condition ( their second lowest ranking). I thought it might have some blemishes but was pleasantly surprised to see this was in new condition. The only thing was the tags had been removed from the chin strap; the little plastic tag holder was still attached to the chin strap. I saved $216 dollars on this helmet. This is the best deal I have gotten on something in a long time. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The helmet itself is awesome. I can wear it all day without it bothering my head or my neck. The Maxvision shield with pinlock insert is fantastic. The ventilation keeps my head cool even in 85 degree heat. I installed a Sena SMH 10/11 bluetooth communicator on it with no problems. This deal has me checking the Amazon Marketplace for more deals regularly now.
